I went hunting today in a WIHA just off the river. I passed a stationary Kansas Highway Patrol vehicle and parked well off the road and into the dirt not more than 500 yards in front of officer; after only 11 minutes of being parked there, the Kansas Highway Patrol officer placed a tag for tow sticker on my truck. The officer didn't even bother to fill out any information on the tag, just my truck license. When I spoke to the patrol supervisor, he seemed to think it was funny and believed it wasn't really a problem since my truck didn't get towed. I find the professionalism of your officer and supervisor unacceptable. There are no parking areas for the majority of WIHA, most of these areas are fenced in and hunters pull safely off the road as we have always done. Hunting is now a civil right here in Kansas; and so long as I am not breaking any laws your organization does not have authority to interfere with the activity regardless of personal or political beliefs. See to it that you educate your officers on professionalism, their legal authority, and our civil rights.
